Volunteer CPA / Nonprofit Financial Advisor

SAFE Worldwide is seeking a volunteer CPA or experienced nonprofit financial professional to provide periodic financial oversight and guidance to our organization.

We are a growing 501(c)(3) wildlife conservation nonprofit focused on protecting endangered species through education, community programs, and partnerships with conservation organizations around the world.

We are looking for someone who can serve as a trusted financial advisor, helping us ensure that our financial practices, reporting, and IRS filings are accurate and appropriate for a nonprofit of our size.

Responsibilities may include:

• Review our annual Form 990 before filing and provide guidance or recommendations
• Review financial statements and reports periodically and help identify potential issues or questions
• Provide general guidance on nonprofit accounting, financial controls, and reporting
• Help us ensure that our financial practices are appropriate and sustainable as SAFE Worldwide grows
• Be available periodically to answer questions and provide an experienced financial perspective
• Advise on best practices related to nonprofit financial management and compliance

What we’re looking for:

• CPA or experienced nonprofit financial professional
• Familiarity with 501(c)(3) organizations and Form 990s
• Strong understanding of nonprofit financial reporting and compliance
• Willingness to volunteer a small amount of time on a periodic basis
• Someone who enjoys supporting a mission-driven organization and would like to use their expertise to make a difference

What this is NOT:

We are not looking for someone to handle our day-to-day bookkeeping or accounting. Our goal is to have an experienced financial professional who can provide independent oversight, review, and guidance and serve as a knowledgeable resource for our organization.
