Advocate for the Residents of a Nursing Home Near You

If you are a good listener and a strong advocate, help give frail and vulnerable residents a voice by joining our program. Trained volunteers are assigned a long-term care facility near where they live or work. Volunteers are expected to visit and do other program related activities an average of 4 hours per month.

Up to 60% of nursing home residents have no one who visits them regularly. You can make a difference!

36 hours of training consists of 16 hours of classroom, 10 hours of homework and 10+ hours shadowing an ombudsman in the field. Contact Nick for more information or apply online at https://www.proseniors.org/long-term-care-ombudsman/volunteer/

(To be eligible for Ombudsman Certification, you must complete all training and pass a state certification exam.)
