Position Title: Board of Directors Member

Type of Position : Volunteer

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategy & Oversight – Help shape organizational goals, review impact, and advise on new opportunities and partnerships.
• Governance – Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and financial standards, upholding our mission and values.
• Financial Stewardship – Review and approve budgets; support strategic resource allocation.
• Fundraising & Advocacy – Participate in fundraising efforts, cultivate donor relationships, and amplify the organization’s mission publicly.
• Ambassadorship – Serve as a visible advocate for our work in the community and on digital platforms.
• Committee Engagement – Serve as leader of a committee to help drive organizational impact and strategic initiatives.
• Mentorship & Support – Mentor and advise volunteers and associate officers for a minimum of one month, helping them build skills and confidence.

Time & Financial Commitment:

• Time Commitment: 15–20 hours per month, including board meetings, committee work, mentoring, and organizational events.
• Administrative Involvement: Track board hours, respond to email communications, complete required training, working meetings, and support other essential administrative tasks.
• Annual Contribution: Each board member is asked to contribute $1,000 within the first 30 days. This personal contribution shows commitment and sets an example for our broader donor community. This starts the year off strong with Board Members being the first to donate to our organization's general operations.

Social Media & Marketing Committee

Purpose: Drives the organization’s online presence and marketing efforts to increase visibility, engage the public, and promote our mission across digital platforms.

Example Tasks (not exhaustive):

• Develop and execute marketing and social media strategies across platforms with the aid of an Associate Officer.
• Draft and distribute bi-monthly newsletters.
• Create and manage content calendars for social media.
• Review and approve marketing materials (flyers, brochures, ads, videos).
• Support volunteer teams with clear processes and strategic direction.
• Track and analyze key engagement metrics and KPIs.
• Collaborate with the Communications & Outreach Committee to maintain consistent messaging.
