Britepaths' Reading Fair

Britepaths is hosting our first Reading Fair on Saturday, October 24, from 10 am to 2 pm at our Fairfax office. We are seeking volunteers to help create a welcoming, engaging experience for children and families as they explore books, participate in activities, and connect with community resources.

The Reading Fair will highlight The Secret Garden (Britepaths’ free take-home library) along with activities like storytime, bookmark decorating, punch cards, and other family-friendly options. Families will also have an opportunity to learn about additional educational resources and services available through Britepaths and visiting community partners.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• Helping children select books and distributing activity punch cards, goodie bags, and prizes
• Supporting bookmark decorating activities
• Reading during Storytime and engaging children in choosing books
• Welcoming families, answering questions, and collecting event feedback
• Keeping the snack station organized and assisting with other event needs

Spanish-speaking volunteers are especially encouraged to sign up.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome. Those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers should be comfortable engaging warmly and respectfully with children and families.
