Veterans needed to visit veterans in hospital

Are you a veteran?

You are needed to visit fellow veterans in a hospital setting.

Help us to publicly acknowledge the military service and sacrifices made by the Veteran and his/her family. To give an opportunity for each Veteran to share part of his/her story, gaining a sense of meaning and purpose.

Offer a visit to Veterans identified at time of hospital admission. Provide supplies to include a flag pin, magnetic flag for door frame, tableside flag and stand, thank you card, star card and information booklet.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Honorably discharged U.S. military veteran
• Good listener
• Comfortable in in-patient setting

Training and Screening:

• Completion of UH Employee orientation or Volunteer Services orientation
• Current TB screening
• Flu shot during flu season
• Observation of patient visits

Serve weekdays between 8 am- 4 pm for a 3-4 hour shift
