How to Apply to Volunteer with AutismTN

We’re excited that you’re interested in supporting our mission! To get started, please follow these steps:

    Submit Your Interest

    Schedule an Interview

    • After we review your form, you’ll receive an email to schedule a phone or video call - whichever is comfortable for you. This conversation helps us learn more about you, answer questions, and ensure the role is a good fit.

    Complete a Background Check

    • Following your interview, we will send you instructions for completing a required background check.
      • The total cost is $38, and AutismTN covers half.
      • Volunteers pay $19 directly to the screening provider.
      • If cost is a concern, please let us know—we never want finances to be a barrier to volunteering.

    Review & Sign Required Documents

    • Once your background check is submitted and comes back clear, you’ll receive the Volunteer Welcome Packet and Liability Waiver to review and sign. This is then returned to us for internal documentation.

    Attend Training

    • After your paperwork is complete, we’ll schedule your onboarding training. You’ll meet staff, review expectations, and receive any tools or resources needed for your volunteer role.
