Help us in the fight against cancer and sign up as a Discovery Shop volunteer! We are a larger retail location. We are looking for Volunteers, offering flexible hours with scheduled committed days.

This is a larger shop and it has CONCRETE flooring. Person needs to be stable on their feet and good with working on this hard surface for several hours at a time. We like to let all our volunteers work in various areas to see the full spectrum of what we do. The more versatile you are the more enjoyable the experience will be.

Retail store (front) duties: placement of new merchandise, restocking, help in re-merchandising shop. Customer service and help. Shop policies. Dressing room clearing. Light duty cleaning and dusting of surfaces and floor. Cashiering and retail assistance in cash wrap area. Reliable and consistent schedule. Flexible hours as long as coverage needs are met.

Backroom area (receiving and processing merchandise): We have two backrooms and need several people in both. The expectations are: Dealing with donors. Learning how to decern what is viable merchandise for our shop. sorting, cleaning preparing to access value and price product (eventually). Participating in a "group" environment with others and learning along the way. This can be a physical taxing situation at times. Hanging and steaming of clothing. Cleaning and pricing shoes and other accessories. Moving incoming donations of household items, art, glassware and more. We ask that you are able to stand comfortably (breaks are always welcomed) to efficiently facilitate going through the donations from that day. Sitting jobs are limited to projects as needed but not a consistent need. Several people are needed daily in both spaces.

If you are warm, friendly and eager to dig in, then this is the place for you. Retail experience is welcomed but not necessary. Some interest in the various products makes it fun, but not a must.

Willingness and reliability are a MUST.
