Food Assistance (Grab & Go) Meal Program - Perishables Shopper

About the Opportunity

Help our neighbors access fresh, nutritious food by shopping for perishable items for our weekly Grab & Go food assistance program. You will use a weekly shopping list and quantity guidance and deliver items to Emmanuel Church so they are ready for Tuesday distribution.

Sign up for one weeks or several weeks.

Responsibilities

• Shop for perishable groceries based on a weekly list and quantities.
• Coordinate substitutions with the program lead when needed.
• Deliver items to Emmanuel Church and store them appropriately (refrigeration and/or designated area).
• Submit receipts for credit card reconciliation or reimbursement.

What We Provide

• A credit card for purchases or reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses (with receipts).
• Shopping list, quantity targets, and point of contact for questions.

Schedule Requirements (Must Meet)

• Shopping must be completed on Mondays.
• Deliver and store items at Emmanuel Church on Monday, or no later than 8:00am on Tuesday.
• Sign up for one weeks or several weeks.

Ideal Volunteer

• Dependable, organized, and comfortable with grocery shopping and local delivery.
• Able to transport groceries safely and handle light to moderate lifting.
