Harness the Power of Music to Bring Comfort and Peace
Providence Hospice invites you to share your musical gifts as a volunteer for patients and families in need of care, connection, and peace during end-of-life moments. Volunteers with training in music thanatology, music therapy, or equivalent experience help create an environment of calm and healing through live music designed to meet our patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
As a Music Thanatologist or Therapist volunteer, you will play an essential role in creating supportive, serene spaces for both patients and their loved ones. We’ll work with your availability and schedule.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Provide live, therapeutic music sessions (vocal, instrumental, or both) with the goal of bringing physical comfort and spiritual peace.
- Adapt your musical offerings to the unique needs of hospice patients and their families, focusing on relaxation and connection.
- Serve hospice patients wherever they reside, including in their homes or care facilities
- Collaborate with the hospice team to supplement comfort, dignity, and holistic care.
Volunteers receive comprehensive training to prepare them to support the unique needs and issues that face the dying and their families. Call us for our next scheduled training dates and to learn more!
Hospice volunteers offer a remarkable form of comfort and care by focusing on well-being, dignity, and peace. If you are ready to make a meaningful, lasting impact through music, join us today.
