    Descripción

On behalf of the Network Theory Applied Research Institute (NTARI), I am pleased to invite computer science and information technology students and enthusiasts to the first annual Community Orchestration Software Development Sprint (COSDS). During this nine month program, you will learn about a new theory of community organization with software as the substrate. Janus Facing Architecture (JFA) allows communities to develop new social and economic activities while teaching themselves software development, maintenance and security.

During the first 10 weeks of COSDS, the cohort will review and discuss the concepts underlying JFA’s five layers while learning about safety standards in aerospace software development, the limits of banking in software economics and the social requirements of liberty.

Volunteers will spend 21 weeks building their troubleshooting, development and leadership skills working on the existing cone of the world’s first Janus Facing Architecture stack while coordinating and keeping time in Slack. Volunteers gain experience committing to Github using DCO signing procedures and encounter a variety of languages like Go, HTML and CSS while improving real code’s execution and security by examining the inference of suboptimum code.

At the end of the course, 8 weeks will be spent discussing the open questions in the architectural theory and opening new ones. Each week, volunteers may alternate leading the group’s development activities depending on cohort size. By the end of COSDS, students will have a better understanding of how software can be learned and applied practically and beneficially in communities.

NTARI is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization established in 2023. Our mission is to steward the global digital commons community by producing, promoting, and maintaining AGPL-3 compliant software.
