    Youth Mentor

BCNC's College Access Program (CAPS) supports Asian youth who are the first in their families to go to college, and many of whom are immigrant English language learners, by providing them with one-on-one mentorship, college tours, workshops on financial aid, standardized test preparation, and more.

For the past four years, 100% of our high school seniors were accepted to colleges with financial aid. As a mentor, you volunteer your time to create a safe and inclusive space that centers your young person, and helps them explore their future goals in the ways most meaningful to them.

Mentor matches are around a year in length, starting in a youth’s spring semester of their junior year, and continuing until the end of the youth’s spring semester of their senior year. Mentors will meet with their mentees every two weeks for at least an hour at a time in their junior year and over the summer. Mentors can meet with their mentees either virtually or in-person.
