About the Role
At White Rose Hospice, we believe every moment matters. As a Hospice Support Services Volunteer, you will help provide emotional and practical support to individuals and families during their end-of-life journey. Your presence can bring calm, dignity, and companionship when it’s needed most.
Volunteer Duties May Include:
- Offering companionship through conversation or quiet presence
- Running light errands or helping with non-medical tasks
- Reading, playing music, or sharing soothing activities
- Sitting vigil with patients in their final hours
- Providing support to family members
- Assisting with clerical or administrative work (optional)
What We’re Looking For:
- Compassionate, dependable individuals with a calm presence
- Good listening and communication skills
- Comfort with sensitive topics and end-of-life settings
- Respect for privacy and cultural/spiritual diversity
- Willingness to complete free hospice volunteer training (provided by White Rose Hospice)
