About the Role

At White Rose Hospice, we believe every moment matters. As a Hospice Support Services Volunteer, you will help provide emotional and practical support to individuals and families during their end-of-life journey. Your presence can bring calm, dignity, and companionship when it’s needed most.

Volunteer Duties May Include:

• Offering companionship through conversation or quiet presence
• Running light errands or helping with non-medical tasks
• Reading, playing music, or sharing soothing activities
• Sitting vigil with patients in their final hours
• Providing support to family members
• Assisting with clerical or administrative work (optional)

What We’re Looking For:

• Compassionate, dependable individuals with a calm presence
• Good listening and communication skills
• Comfort with sensitive topics and end-of-life settings
• Respect for privacy and cultural/spiritual diversity
• Willingness to complete free hospice volunteer training (provided by White Rose Hospice)
