Patient & Caregiver Engagement

As a Patient and Caregiver Engagement Volunteer, you can touch lives in a deeply meaningful way. Your presence, a friendly smile, a listening ear, and a caring heart can bring comfort, calm, and encouragement to patients and families during their healing journey. Through conversation, activities, and companionship, you help transform the hospital experience into one that feels more supportive, personal, and hopeful. This role is perfect for someone who wants to give their time to make a genuine difference.

We are looking for outgoing independent individuals with a passion for compassion able to commit to a 3-hour designated shift for a minimum 3-month period.

Volunteers will assist with various tasks including, round with an activity cart, engage patients and caregivers in conversation, welcome new patients, check on room safety (i.e. phones and remotes within reaching distance), assist with deliveries from the front desk to rooms, and assist caregivers with "moving out" at discharge. Training will be provided to volunteers.

Please be aware that the State of Florida requires a Level 2 background check (fingerprints) through the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) to volunteer.
