    Death Doula Volunteer

We would love to have you as a Death Doula Volunteer!

“Our worst fear isn’t the end of life but the end of memories” – Author Tom Rachman

Navigating end-of-life care can take an emotional toll on patients, families, and loved ones.

As you know, end-of-life doula can be a great resource to add to your loved one’s hospice care team. Not many people are even aware of end-of-life doulas, but they can be a wonderful source of comfort for families and patients alike.

Hospice Teams and Doulas can and often do work hand in hand. This is where we need your help! Volunteers are a required part of Hospice and therefore we can help you gain Hospice Patient experiences as you build your Death Doula profession.

Volunteering after obtaining your Death Doula certificate can provide numerous benefits, including:

    • Personal Growth: Engaging in end-of life care can enhance your understanding of the dying process and improve your skills in providing support.
    • Skill Development: Volunteering helps you refine your presence, active listening, and non-medical care skills, which are essential for supporting patients and families.
    • Professional Development: Your experience as a Death Doula can add value to your resume and open up opportunities for career advancement in the healthcare field.
    • Community Impact: Serving as a Death Doula can positively impact the lives of patients and their families, contributing to a more compassionate healthcare system.
    • Skill Transfer: Your experience can be applied in various settings, such as hospices, hospitals, or community organizations, providing you with diverse experiences & skills

    The process is simple!

    1) Fill out the online interest form.

    2) I will then contact you & set up a time to chat via phone so that you can introduce yourself & ask any questions.

    3) Complete required onboarding documents and training.

    4) Meet in person for coffee or tea (orientation)

    5) We will schedule a day/time that works for us both to do your 1st Patient visit together!

We look forward to you joining our Awesome Volunteer Team! It's truly an amazing & humbling experience.
