NPFY - Volunteers Needed: Summer Basketball Fair

We are seeking volunteers for New Pathways for Youth’s Summer Basketball Fair on Saturday, June 27 (11:00 AM – 3:00 PM) at the Westside Multi-Gen Center in Tempe, AZ. This community event brings together a youth basketball tournament and interactive activities including arts & crafts, a dance workshop, video games, and food distribution.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Volunteers may assist in one or more of the following areas:

• Supporting basketball games (refereeing, scorekeeping, or assisting with game flow)
• Managing check-in and welcoming participants
• Helping run activity stations (arts & crafts, dance, free play/gaming)
• Assisting with food and snack distribution
• Supporting setup (9:30–10:45 AM) and breakdown (3:00–4:00 PM)
• General event support to ensure smooth operations and participant safety

Qualifications

• Friendly, dependable, and willing to support youth and community programming
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Comfortable engaging with children and families
• No prior experience required (training/support provided onsite)

Additional Details

• Event runs rain or shine (indoor/outdoor spaces)
• Volunteers may be assigned to rotating roles as needed
• A short orientation will be provided before the event begins
