Why this role matters
Our podcast is more than a series of conversations; it's a platform for evidence, lived experience, and honest dialogue about women's health, hormones, menstrual health and the broader cycle ecosystem. Through every episode, we challenge how people think about living and working within our cycles and help create conversations that drive meaningful change.
We're looking for someone who can help bring these conversations to life across social media. From creating engaging content to growing our online community, this role will help ensure our podcast reaches, inspires, and connects with more people around the world.
What you'll do
- Develop and manage the podcast's social media presence across Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok.
- Create engaging social media content to promote podcast episodes, clips, behind-the-scenes moments and related campaigns.
- Write compelling captions and adapt content for each platform.
- Launch and grow our TikTok presence, helping establish an engaged community around the podcast.
- Work with the Podcast Producer and Video Editor to turn episodes into engaging social media content.
- Schedule and publish content in line with the podcast's content calendar.
- Engage with our online community by responding to comments, messages and conversations across social platforms.
- Monitor trends, conversations and opportunities that can increase the podcast's reach and engagement.
- Track social media performance and recommend ideas to improve growth and audience engagement.
- Ensure all content aligns with Period Reality's mission, tone of voice and brand.
What we're looking for
- Experience managing social media accounts for brands, organisations, or personal projects.
- Strong copywriting skills and the ability to create engaging, platform-specific content.
- Good understanding of Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok, including current trends and best practices.
- Confident engaging with online communities and building meaningful conversations.
- Creative, organised and able to manage multiple content deadlines.
- Comfortable analysing engagement metrics and using insights to improve performance.
- Proactive, self-driven and able to take ownership of the podcast's social media presence.
- Passionate about storytelling, podcasts and Period Reality's mission.
- Able to commit time consistently and work collaboratively within a remote volunteer team.
What you'll gain
- Experience helping grow a purpose-driven podcast that is creating meaningful conversations around women's health and menstrual equity.
- The opportunity to build valuable skills in communications and social media.
- Hands-on experience working with a passionate, remote team committed to driving social impact.
- Opportunities to expand your professional network by connecting with researchers, healthcare professionals, organisations, creators, and advocates.
- A chance to contribute to a growing movement that is challenging stigma and improving education around menstrual and hormonal health.
- The opportunity to shape and influence the future growth of the Period Reality podcast.
Please Note
Period Reality is a volunteer-led charity and this is a fully unpaid volunteer role. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to share their time, skills and experience to help us create meaningful impact.
