Hospital Support Volunteer
Make a Difference for Pets and Their People!
At Mission Animal Hospital, every role helps create brighter futures for pets in need — and we couldn’t do it without our volunteers. Our Hospital Support Volunteers play a vital part in keeping our facility clean, organized, and running smoothly so our veterinary team can focus on what they do best: providing compassionate care for dogs and cats.
As a Hospital Support Volunteer, you’ll be a key part of the heartbeat of Mission — helping us create a welcoming, efficient, and safe space for our patients and their families.
What You’ll Do:
- Help clean and sanitize surgical instruments and medical equipment following our care and safety protocols
- Keep the laundry room tidy, organized, and stocked with clean bedding and towels for our furry patients
- Wipe down and dust mop exam rooms to ensure a fresh, clean space for each visit
- Maintain outdoor common areas by picking up pet waste and keeping them inviting for clients and pets
- Cut and fold surgical drapes to prepare for life-changing procedures
- Fill flush syringes and open oral syringes to support our medical team’s daily workflow
- Sort and move donations to our main vestibule for clients in need
Requirements:
- Independent volunteers must be 18 years or older
- Volunteers age 16–17 may participate with a signed parent/guardian release form
- Volunteers age 14–15 may participate alongside a supervising adult volunteer
- All volunteers must have at least one vaccination shot for COVID-19 or have an approved exemption on file
- All volunteers must have an annual influenza vaccination or have an approved exemption on file
Volunteer shifts are 3 hours long. Volunteers must apply, interview, and complete a training shift before volunteering independently.
💛 Your time helps us help more pets. By lending your hands and heart to Mission Animal Hospital, you’re ensuring that every pet — no matter their owner’s financial situation — receives the care they deserve.
