Are you an animal lover and a people person? Do you have experience caring for kittens? The Deputy Kitten Cuddler (Assistant Cat/Kitten Foster Coordinator) helps place cats and kittens in short and longer term foster homes; tracks foster parent activities and their needs to care for the cats properly; provides foster parents with the information and tools they need to perform the job they volunteered for. Please help us place homeless kitties in foster homes! Training is provided.
In this position will undertake all or some of the following tasks, as assigned by the Foster Coordinator:
- On-board New Foster Volunteers:
- Review volunteer applications
- Interview applicants
- Provide new fosters with training materials
- Set up volunteers to start fostering
- Match new fosters with an experienced foster mentor
- Support Current Foster Volunteers:
- Match new kitties with fosters, taking into consideration volunteer availability and the special needs of the animals
- Reach out to volunteers at the start of new foster assignments to see how the kitties are settling in
- Check-in with fosters regularly to discuss any needs the kitties have
- Help manage the ongoing relationship between foster volunteers and the shelter by responding to questions and providing support when needed
- Assist the Foster Coordinator with providing support to foster families
- Work with Foster Coordinator to promote annual kitten shower, post wish list, and provide foster parents with all needed items.
- Assist with scheduling vaccines and medical treatments
- Assist with scheduling spay/neuter surgeries

In 2025 nearly 800 felines were in our care, with about half of them kittens in foster homes. EASEL Animal Rescue League is a no-kill shelter.
