Fall into restoration with us! We’re excited to invite you to volunteer at Duwamish Hill Preserve on Friday, October 16th from 1:00 to 3:30 pm. This preserve is a vibrant Tukwila park that provides critical wildlife habitat and walking trails in a fairly industrial area.
Native plants don’t just look good, they do good. They support wildlife, improve air and water quality, and help create more resilient ecosystems in our urban environments.
We’ll kick things off with a walk through the preserve and have restoration professionals on hand to share their knowledge and answer your questions about native plants, the Green Tukwila Partnership, and Forterra’s long-term stewardship of this special place.
What we are doing:
The Preserve now includes an outdoor classroom area, the Cultural Garden, an enhanced trail system, and continued restoration opportunities for volunteers. We’ll be removing the blackberry to ensure the trees, shrubs, and groundcovers we planted can thrive. It’s a great opportunity to learn about Forterra's innovative approach to land conservation, including its role in safeguarding the Duwamish Hill Preserve.
Date & Time
