Do you enjoy working with children?
If so, look no further and volunteer at YouthBASE!
YouthBASE is a free yearlong Afterschool Program. We work with children in K5 - 2nd grade. During the school year, YouthBASE runs from 3:00 pm- 5:30 pm. During the summer we run from 8:30 am - 2:00 pm. Our students go on field trips on Fridays during the school year. All year long we provide math, reading, and writing classes to our students. We also have Family Nights that take place once a month and it's from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm.
Volunteer Opportunities:
- Regular volunteering: We may have you follow a group of children during their rotation of reading, writing, or math, or we may have you remain in one classroom during our rotations and help with activities taking place in the classroom. Afterschool volunteering hours: 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm. Summer volunteering hours: 9:00 am - 11:30 am (June & July).
- Family Night Sponsor (small groups): During Family Nights, parents and children engage in fun activities designed to increase family interaction. We are always in need of sponsors who would like to prepare, provide, deliver and serve dinner to families at Family Night. This can be a one-time service opportunity or ongoing.
- *Before getting started, you will need to complete a volunteer orientation that takes about 30 minutes and do a background check. Must be willing to commit to coming once a week. We do not accept volunteers that are required to complete court mandated community service hours. Please complete our volunteer application at YouthBASE
