Administrative Volunteer- Weekly Calls- Crescent Sumter

Crescent Hospice is looking for caring and dependable Administrative Volunteers to join our Tuck-In Call Program. This meaningful volunteer opportunity allows you to make a difference by helping ensure our hospice patients have the medications, supplies, and support they need before the weekend.

As a volunteer, you will make scheduled phone calls using a simple script to check in with patients and caregivers. Your calls provide reassurance, identify any unmet needs, and help our clinical team address concerns before the weekend begins.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Make weekly “Tuck-In” calls to hospice patients and caregivers.

Follow a provided call script.

Confirm patients have medications, medical supplies, and other essential needs.

Report any concerns to the hospice team.

Provide compassionate and professional communication during every interaction.

Qualifications:

Friendly and compassionate personality

Excellent communication and listening skills

Dependable and professional

Comfortable speaking with patients and families by phone

Basic computer skills are helpful but not required

Volunteer Requirements:

Complete the volunteer application process

Pass a background check

Attend volunteer orientation and training

Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines

No previous hospice experience is necessary. We provide all the training you need to feel confident in your role.
