State and federal guidelines require a background check, drug screening, TB test, physical and fingerprinting. Traditions Health will pay the cost for these requirements. On-going training and orientation will be provided.
Descripción
Volunteers with BIG HEARTS are needed to provide support and companionship to elders with life-limiting illnesses. Your compassion will bring joy, comfort and connection to patients as they enter their last stages of life. You will receive an orientation and training, and will be well-supported by the hospice team. What can you do as a hospice patient volunteer?
- Friendly visit with patient
- Light housekeeping
- Run errands for caregiver
- Play cards or a game
- Sit outdoors with them on a patio
- Walk their dog
- Play a musical instrument and/or sing
- Read a book
- Write letters that the patient dictates
- Outdoor chores
- Sit vigil with a patient
