    Descripción

    Talent is everywhere. Access isn't.

That’s the problem Wevise is working to solve. We connect underserved and disadvantaged people with mentors, training, and opportunities to enter and advance in the technology industry.

Now, we're looking for a Volunteer CEO to help make a real difference in someone’s life.

    We’re a volunteer-run nonprofit focused on:

    • making access to technology careers more deliberate and more equitable.
    • connecting people with the experience, relationships, and opportunities that can help them enter and thrive in tech.
    • Partnering with organizations who need mentorship and career placement programs to complement their main programming.
    • Supporting companies in finding the best candidates from all backgrounds.

    The role

This is a hands-on opportunity to shape Wevise’s future, expand our visibility, build meaningful partnerships, and secure the resources we need to grow our impact. You’ll turn support for our mission into action.

You will also help drive results for our two major programs:

    • a free, on-demand mentorship platform that connects people with mentors based on their needs, interests, and experiences.
    • The TechPath Alliance, a six-month city-focused mentoring and career development program currently being piloted in Chicago.

A major part of the role will be fundraising and relationship-building. That means developing relationships with potential donors, corporate partners, foundations, and other supporters; creating opportunities for people to contribute; and making the case for why investing in access to tech careers matters.

    Who we're looking for

We’re looking for someone who knows how to build relationships that create momentum.

You might come from nonprofit leadership, fundraising, advocacy, community building, philanthropy, sales, partnerships, or mission-driven business development. Your background matters less than your ability to connect with people, earn their trust, communicate a compelling story, and turn those relationships into action.

    You should be comfortable:

    • Talking to donors and potential funders
    • Building relationships from scratch
    • Representing an organization publicly
    • Asking people to support something they believe in
    • Communicating a mission clearly and authentically
    • Working with a small, highly engaged volunteer leadership team
    • Operating without a large staff or established infrastructure
    • Taking an idea and turning it into something real

This is a chance to help shape an organization while it's still being built.

Most importantly, you’ll help make access to the technology industry a little less dependent on who someone knows, where they started, or whether someone just so happened to open the right door for them.
