    Descripción

    Financial Literacy Specialist

    Strong understanding of personal finance principles, including budgeting, saving, debt reduction, credit building/restoration, banking products, and financial goal setting

    Knowledge of credit reports, credit scoring, and strategies for improving credit health

    Familiarity with consumer financial protections, common financial pitfalls, predatory lending practices, and financial scams

    Understanding of asset-building strategies, including emergency savings, homeownership readiness, and long-term financial planning

    Ability to explain financial concepts in a clear, practical, engaging, and easy-to-understand manner

    Strong communication, mentorship, and active listening skills

    A genuine willingness and ability to work with teenagers and young adults, helping equip them with foundational financial literacy skills that promote responsible decision-making, independence, and long-term economic stability

    Ability to present age-appropriate financial education topics to youth, such as:

    • budgeting and money management
    • savings habits
    • banking basics
    • debit vs. credit
    • understanding credit and debt
    • responsible spending
    • entrepreneurship and wealth-building concepts
    • financial goal setting

    Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse socioeconomic and life backgrounds, including justice-impacted individuals, returning citizens, families, and youth

    Compassion, patience, and a nonjudgmental, encouraging approach

    Ability to help participants develop realistic financial action plans based on their current circumstances

    Strong organizational and follow-up skills

    Basic computer proficiency (email, spreadsheets, budgeting tools, online banking platforms, virtual learning resources)

    Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and appropriate boundaries

    Prior experience in banking, finance, credit counseling, financial coaching, accounting, nonprofit services, education, or community outreach preferred

    Knowledge of community financial empowerment resources is a plus
