Make change in Your Neighborhood! Today is the Day!!

It is 2025 and there is still a chance for you and 2 of your closest friends to help us reach 25 new volunteers! What would you do?....just be nice to a neighbor who is blind - help them sort and read mail, drop it into the file cabinet, take them to the grocery store or shop with their list when you get your own things. Take a walk or sit outdoors when the weather is nice and have a friendly visit or a chat. If you are available during the day, a trip to a local doctor's office would help a lot but is not a requirement. There is so much you can do to make someone feel special - there is no limit to the joy!

Requirements to be a great volunteer include:

• a desire to help others;
• a pleasant demeanor;
• a good reading/speaking voice;
• average reading skills;
• organizational or planning abilities;
• a good driving record;
• a clear criminal history;
• two references
• access to a car with proof of insurance;
• a minimum of $50/100k liability and $5,000 of property damage coverage - don't have it; don't worry we have work-arounds.
