Virtual Coaching Sessions - App Development February 11th

Goal of the Event: The goal of the App Development Virtual Coaching Session is for NPower students to gain career insights and discuss career concerns with Tech professionals with 3+ years of experience and a background in App Development.

Event Description: Virtual Coaching Sessions give NPower volunteers the opportunity to engage our students in the process of professional development, while providing them with additional confidence and support in our program. Coaching Sessions provide a relaxed environment for students to gain valuable advice from seasoned professionals.

A small group of NPower App Development students are matched with a volunteer to discuss career concerns and gain valuable insight from seasoned tech professionals that have successfully navigated the corporate environment. Coaching Sessions provide an opportunity for students to ask their questions about how to succeed and for volunteers to share their experiences with the next generation of tech professionals.

Volunteer Role & Time Commitment:

• Volunteers are Tech/IT or HR professionals with over 3 years of experience and a background in App Development or similar fields.
• Volunteers will provide career advice, guidance, and answer students' questions about how to succeed in a career in tech. Volunteers will be provided with resource materials prior to the event.
• Volunteers are asked to review our recorded Volunteer Orientation and Volunteer Resource Guide, which contains numerous suggested questions on various topics, to prepare them for the event.
• The Coaching Sessions are conducted via Zoom video conferencing, hosted by NPower, and utilize Zoom Breakout Rooms.
