    Company Description

SelfSoulLiberate is a non-profit organization dedicated to achieving health equity and reducing stigma surrounding mental health in under-resourced communities. Our mission is to provide educational resources, develop sustainable wellness frameworks, and make care more accessible.

    Role Description

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and creative Marketing Lead Volunteer to oversee marketing initiatives and strengthen SelfSoulLiberate's brand presence, audience engagement, and organizational outreach.

In this remote leadership role, you will guide marketing strategy, coordinate volunteer contributions, oversee campaign development, and ensure that marketing initiatives align with our mission and organizational priorities. You will work collaboratively with leadership and other teams to communicate our impact, expand our reach, and build awareness of mental health resources in under-resourced communities.

This is an opportunity to apply your marketing and leadership expertise to a mission-driven organization while helping build sustainable marketing processes and a strong organizational brand.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop, implement, and refine comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with organizational objectives, brand positioning, and audience engagement goals.
    • Lead, guide, and support marketing volunteers, providing direction, feedback, and mentorship to ensure high-quality and timely deliverables.
    • Oversee the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital platforms and other relevant communication channels.
    • Guide the development of marketing content and materials, including campaign messaging, promotional graphics, newsletters, digital communications, and organizational collateral.
    • Maintain consistent brand identity, messaging, tone, and visual standards across all marketing initiatives.
    • Identify target audiences and growth opportunities through research into audience needs, sector trends, community engagement, and nonprofit marketing best practices.
    • Establish relevant marketing KPIs, monitor campaign performance, analyze engagement data, and provide actionable recommendations to organizational leadership.
    • Collaborate with social media, communications, programs, events, and fundraising teams to coordinate campaigns and ensure consistent messaging across organizational activities.
    • Identify opportunities to expand brand awareness, strengthen community outreach, increase audience engagement, and support the visibility of organizational programs.
    • Develop and maintain marketing workflows, content calendars, guidelines, and documentation to improve team coordination and operational efficiency.
    • Stay informed about emerging marketing trends, digital tools, and campaign strategies, recommending innovative approaches where appropriate.
    • Provide regular updates to leadership on marketing priorities, campaign progress, performance, and opportunities for improvement.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated experience in marketing, digital marketing, communications, branding, or campaign management.
    • Experience leading projects, coordinating teams, or mentoring volunteers is strongly preferred.
    • Strong understanding of marketing strategy, audience engagement, brand development, and digital communication channels.
    • Excellent written communication, creative direction, editing, and content development skills.
    • Familiarity with marketing analytics, performance measurement, and data-informed decision-making.
    • Experience with tools such as Canva, email marketing platforms, content management systems, project management software, or analytics tools is an asset.
    • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives and deadlines.
    • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with a distributed team.
    • A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities, develop practical solutions, and translate ideas into actionable marketing initiatives.
    • Passion for mental health awareness, health equity, and SelfSoulLiberate's mission.
    • Volunteers should be available to work within a U.S. time zone for effective collaboration.
