We’re looking for volunteers to help our Charm School students go from “Hiss to Home!”

Charm School is home to our community cat programs including TNR, Working Cats, TNEs, long-term residents, adoptable cats awaiting events, and those currently under medical care.

Volunteer Details:

• Open to individuals 18+ or minors accompanied by a parent/guardian.
• Shifts are 2.5 hours long and require a 3 month commitment
• Meal & care shifts:
  • Breakfast: 9:00–11:30 am
  • Midday: 11:30 am–1:30 pm
  • Dinner: 6:00–8:30 pm (Mon–Wed)
  • Dinner: 3:30–6:00 pm (Thurs–Sun)
• You will be assist with the day-to-day cleaning, feeding, organizing, restocking, laundry, etc. as well as socialize cats/kittens on-site using our fear-free techniques.
• No experience needed—training is provided!

Our Charm School curriculum is designed to help our rescue cats transition from shelter life into their forever homes. Coming from a more structured schedule designed for socialization and medical care, Charm School focuses on enrichment, exploration, and one-on-one "tutoring" and socialization.

Kitty Bungalow is a non-profit cat wellness and socialization facility located in South Los Angeles. Our cats and kittens come from the mean streets of Los Angeles, whether it’s directly from TNR, from the LA Animal Services, or working with our remarkable rescue partners, helping the most vulnerable of felines.

We offer free TNR services to our local community, helping thousands of cats each year by ensuring they are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and treated for fleas and parasites. This essential work helps control the population of stray cats, prevents disease, and improves overall quality of life for community felines.

Each year, we intake hundreds of kittens into our Charm School, where our group of volunteers socialize and rehabilitate them. Our dedicated team of onsite volunteers and foster parents care for our "students," using force-free socialization techniques to help street cats transition from 'hiss to home'.

As a No Kill facility, we believe that working together is how the best life-saving strategies come to be. ​
