The primary responsibility of the Early Education Intern is to assist the program in providing a high quality, nurturing, and supportive learning environment for 8 toddler age children or 14-16 preschool age children. The intern will actively participate in and reinforce children’s play, assist in the screening and ongoing assessment of children, participate in lesson planning with the classroom teachers, and support the classroom in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
This internship is designed specifically for a student who is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field. This internship will require a minimum time commitment of 16 hours per week, 3 days per week, with all hours falling between 8:00am-3:30pm. Exact start and end dates are flexible but must be negotiated up front.
Interns will perform work primarily in a classroom at either our Phoenix Early Education center or our Mesa Early Education center

Roles and Responsibilities:
· Intern will interact with children positively and support their play and learning.
· Intern will work closely with Classroom Teachers to complete all duties of a classroom teacher, including cleaning, paperwork, and family engagement.
· Intern will have opportunities to create lesson plans, conduct developmental screenings and assessments, and participate in parent-teacher conferences.
· Intern will be provided with opportunities to learn about and implement Conscious Discipline, Creative Curriculum, Toddler CLASS, and ITERS3, which are all used in many high quality early childhood settings.
