Inclusion On Purpose - Supporting Neurodiverse Adults in Our Community

    Overview

As a Peer Mentor Volunteer, you will play a key role in helping neurodiverse adults increase their independence, confidence, and connection to the community. You’ll provide both group and one-on-one support, model positive behaviors, and lead with empathy, compassion, and professionalism.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about creating meaningful change and building inclusive communities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Life Skills Support: Provide direct coaching to help participants build independence in daily living, social engagement, and community participation.
    • Modeling & Boundaries: Demonstrate desired behaviors and maintain professional boundaries while fostering trust and respect.
    • Community-Based Services: Support participants in their community settings, making safe, values-aligned decisions in real time.
    • Communication: Collaborate effectively with Inclusion On Purpose staff, other volunteers, participants, family members, and community partners.

    What We’re Looking For

    • A genuine passion for working with neurodiverse individuals.
    • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
    • Ability to uphold safety standards and Inclusion On Purpose values in all settings.
    • Willingness to handle some physical aspects of the role (bending, lifting, walking, etc.).
    • Commitment to volunteering for at least 1 month.
    • Experience with developmental disabilities is a plus, but not required-we provide training and ongoing support.

    Time Commitment

Consistent hours 9:30am - 2:30pm with a preference for volunteers who can commit to 1-3 days each week for at least one month.

    Impact

By volunteering as a Life Skills Coach, you’ll directly help participants gain skills, achieve personal goals, and feel more connected to the community-while also contributing to a more inclusive Boulder County.
