Help Someone Improve their Reading Skills
The Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts (LVM) was established in 1972 as a private, nonprofit organization that provides free, confidential tutoring to adults in basic literacy.
What is a Literacy Volunteer?
Literacy Volunteers are a crucial part of providing adult literacy services to our patrons. We look for tutors who are passionate about sharing their skills and knowledge with adults who want to improve their reading and writing skills, and learn how to use library resources and technology to their advantage.
Goals
By improving literacy levels, volunteers aim to empower individuals to participate more fully in their communities, access employment opportunities, and support their families.
