Letters of Light
Bring joy and holiday cheer to nursing home residents by creating heartfelt, handmade Christmas cards! Each card you make will brighten someone’s day, spread warmth, and remind residents that they are remembered and cared for during the holiday season. No artistic experience is required — just your kindness, creativity, and festive spirit!
Volunteer Role:
- Make or decorate Christmas cards
- Write uplifting messages for residents
- Help spread holiday cheer in the community
Impact: Your letters will bring smiles, comfort, and a sense of connection to residents who may be spending the holidays away from family. Every card is a small act of light that can make a big difference!

Instrucciones:
- Materials Needed:
- Blank or pre-made cards, construction paper, or cardstock
- Pens, markers, colored pencils, or crayons
- Stickers, stamps, or other decorations (optional)
- Envelopes (if applicable)
- Prepare Your Card:
- Decorate the front of your card with festive drawings or designs.
- Include a warm, uplifting message inside, such as:
- “Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a joyful holiday season!”
- “Sending you love, light, and happiness this holiday!”
- (Keep messages positive and appropriate for all ages.)
- Sign Your Card:
- You may sign your first name only or use something like “A Friend from Letters of Light.”
- Avoid including personal contact information.
- Optional: Share Digitally
- If you prefer, you can take a picture of your completed card and email it to the volunteer coordinator.
- Make sure the card is clearly visible in the photo and your message is readable.
- Check Your Work:
- Ensure your message is legible.
- Decorations are secure, and the card is neat.
- Submit Your Card:
- Place completed cards in the designated collection box or envelope.
- Or email a picture to the coordinator if you cannot deliver the card in person.
- Optional Extra Step:
- You can include small, safe, non-food items like stickers or a small drawing to make the card extra special (check guidelines first).
