English Language Learner teacher, Basic

This year, September 2025, we are swamped with new students in Basic and are running two classrooms, each with a main teacher and a n assistant, except that we don't have a main teacher for one of the Thursday groups! We have students from varying language backgrounds, all of whom are learning basic vocabulary, grammar, days of the week, numbers, etc. You will work with a second person and collaborate with the other section of Basic, a teacher and assistant. You will have a teacher manual and the support of a community of volunteer teachers, some of whom have been with us for many years. You will also collaborate with the volunteers who teach the same group on Thursdays, so you know what was covered, what was challenging for students, and what has been working well.

Our program has been ongoing for almost 25 years and we have pretty much seen it all but start ing the semester missing a teacher is something new! We have fabulous volunteers and substitutes who have filled in the last two weeks but we really need someone to take this group on for the rest of the school year. We are a solid community of volunteers because the students and our friends keep us coming. You will know you are valued and needed!
