Opportunity Summary:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Volunteer Graphic Designer to help us communicate our mission and educational content through compelling visuals. You will play a key role in designing high-quality digital materials for our online courses, marketing efforts, and web presence, keeping in mind brand consistency. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone dedicated to the arts, education, and using their creative skills for a greater purpose.
Key Responsibilities:
- Course Graphic Designs: Create engaging visual assets for our online courses, taking Google Slides and bringing them into Canva for more interesting and professional-looking colors and graphics for these educational materials.
- Landing Pages & Web Graphics: Design visually appealing web layouts and graphics optimized for our website and landing pages to support marketing campaigns and user engagement.
- Video Graphics: Develop graphics, titles, and visual effects for educational and promotional videos (video editing skills are not required). Designs are done in Canva.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the content, marketing, and program teams to understand project requirements and provide creative solutions.
- File Management: Be willing to share editable source files of all artwork (e.g., in Canva formats) to facilitate future updates.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven graphic design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of digital projects (web, social, and possibly video).
- Proficiency in Canva design software
- Strong understanding of design principles, color theory, typography, and layout.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback and revision.
- A passion for our nonprofit's mission and the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling visuals.
Time Commitment:
This is a flexible, virtual position. We request a minimum commitment of 4-5 hours per week, with flexibility around project deadlines.
