Volunteer ESL Tutors (Remote)

Tutors Change Lives is seeking compassionate, reliable volunteers to serve as Online ESL Tutors for adult English learners. No previous experience, certification or credentials are necessary. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy helping others, value cultural exchange, and want to make a positive impact in their community.

As a volunteer tutor, you will support adult learners as they build confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing English. No formal teaching background is required — we provide training, materials, and ongoing support.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of Student learning sessions
• Facilitate engaging, conversational English practice sessions
• Support learners in developing communication and literacy skills
• Use provided curriculum and learning tools
• Encourage and motivate students in a positive learning environment
• Provide constructive feedback to help students grow
• Collaborate with program coordinators as needed

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

• Experience in Academics/Education, tutoring or teaching ESL (helpful but not required)
• Familiarity with online learning tools (Google Meet, Google Docs, etc.)
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Multilingual skills are a plus, but not required

Requirements

• Fluent in English
• Live in the United States
• A patient, encouraging, and respectful attitude
• Interest in helping adult English learners succeed
• Reliable internet access and a computer, microphone, and a camera. Familiarity in a Google based environment.
• Willingness to volunteer at least 2-3 hours per week (more welcome if desired)
