About IELLP: We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the residents of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties by writing articles that analyze policy, criminal justice issues, and civil rights, while equipping our people with the tools necessary to assert their rights, influence change, and protect themselves & their families.
As a Community Engagement Volunteer with the Inland Empire Legal Literacy Project (IELLP), you will be joining a nonprofit organization full of like-minded individuals who want to strengthen our community through inclusive engagement. You’ll contribute to our programming department regarding public affairs, event planning, and fostering collaborations with all stakeholders. You will work closely with other volunteers and the program coordinator to ensure events, workshops, and external meetings are properly executed.
Responsibilities
- Support outreach efforts to engage community members and partners
- Assist with planning and promoting community events.
- Contribute creative ideas for programs and events
- Attend in-person IELLP events
- Attend in-person external stakeholder events like mixers, community events, and government events.
- Gather feedback and insights from the community to support program improvement
Ideal Candidate:
- Passion for community engagement and outreach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, responsible, organized, and enthusiastic about community involvement
- Comfortable working with diverse communities and different perspectives
- Knowledge of, or experience with, event planning, community engagement, or outreach coordination is preferred but not required
