About:
The Sammamish Library is looking for teen experts (aged 14+) to lead workshops in our STEM Saturdays Spring Series for the months of March and April.
What to include in the proposal:
- Design a proposal for 1 to 2 workshops on a STEM-related topic (about 1-2 hours in duration) for an audience aged 8-12.
- A typical format includes a short lecture/explanation of the science concept and then a hands-on activity. Past workshops examples: How to Make a Balloon-Powered Car, How to Make Slime, and How Stars Live and Die.
Workload and time commitment:
- Time doing the workshops (2-4 hours) plus planning and preparation prior to the workshop. We’ll work to develop and refine the topics together.
- Workshop Dates: March 14th or 28th AND April 11th or 25th

- If your proposal is accepted, Teen Librarian Jessica will send you the link fill out the Volunteer application. Look for an email in the second week of January.

- WA state background check
- Parental consent form
- Volunteer Agreement Form
- General Volunteer Training (provided by KCLS)
- Hours and training logged in MyVolunteerPage.com
