About IELLP: We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the residents of San Bernardino and Riverside County by writing articles that analyze policy, criminal justice issues, and immigration rights, while equipping our people with the tools necessary to assert their rights, influence change, and protect themselves & their families.
As a Social Media Editor with the IELLP you will be joining a nonprofit organization full of like-minded individuals who want to help the community while fueling their passion justice and gaining practical skills in the process. You'll be the bridge between the IELLP and the public. You will work closely with a team of other Social Media Assistants to ensure that all of our posts are aligned with current trends and is edited accordingly. Your support will be assist the social media manager with content creation, community engagement, analytics tracking, and story telling.
Time Commitment: 0-5 Hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Help develop and implement creative Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok strategies that highlight our articles, events, campaigns, and partnerships.
- Collaborate with the research and writing team to translate complex issues into bite-sized, engaging content across digital platforms.
- Contribute creative ideas for social media and content.
- Editing short-form and long form video content with a team
- Create carousel posts for instagram, tiktok, and facebook.
- Design informational infographics
- Help brainstorm captions & engagement strategies.
- Keep visuals on-brand.
- Stay up to date with deadlines and departmental calendar.
Ideal Candidate:
- Passion for social justice and being the voice for those who can’t speak for themselves.
- Personal or professional experience with filming, video editing, canva, instagram, facebook, and tiktok.
- Reliable, organized, and able to meet weekly deadlines.
- Course work in communications, marketing or a related field is preferred
