Pet Therapy Volunteer (visit patients with your dog)

1. Get certified through: Alliance of Therapy Dogs - A National Pet Therapy Dogs Organization (ATD) or other qualified pet therapy organization that we partner with.
   1. Through ATD, you'll have 3 local observations to ensure your dog knows very basic commands, is friendly, and can remain calm in a chaotic environment.
2. Once certified, Complete the online orientation.
   1. Scroll to Volunteer Orientation section
   2. In Categories menu, click Pet Therapy link.
   3. Click Pet Therapy Orientation link.
   4. In pop-up box, enter promo code: PET2020 and click the Apply button.
   5. Click Buy button and register for an account by entering a username and password of your choice.
3. Complete Application and provide required documentation by clicking here.
4. Look for an email with instructions for scheduling your interview at the location where you want to volunteer.

After a successful interview, you will be asked to complete any further items needed prior to getting started, such as completing a background check, submitting immunization records, your pet’s shot records, etc.
