By Your Side Volunteering | Elara Caring Hospice

The By Your Side program at Elara Caring is designed to help provide extremely individualized care for patients, especially as their needs change. As a By Your Side volunteer with Elara Caring Hospice, you will have the opportunity to provide companionship, presence, and emotional support to patients and their families during these times of increased need, but especially as the patient is identified as imminently passing. This support can look like many different things, including bedside vigiling for patients in facilities and private residences, providing spiritual support to family members, or simply being present and lending an ear. As a volunteer, you truly are by your patient’s side.

Becoming a By Your Side volunteer is easy, all you need is:

• Be 16 years of age or older
• Reliable transportation
• A valid Texas driver’s license or identification card
• An open heart and mind
