Volunteer at SVOY Grand Finale!

Hello!

We’re reaching out to invite you to apply to volunteer with Blood Cancer United Illinois at one of our biggest and most exciting events of the year—Student Visionaries of the Year.

This incredible program brings together hundreds of high school students and their families as they raise critical funds over seven weeks to help bring an end to blood cancer. The Grand Finale is our celebration of their hard work and dedication, where we announce the Student Visionaries of the Year winner—and we can’t do it without amazing volunteers like you.

Event Details

📅 Grand Finale: March 7th, 2026

📍 Location: Rockwell on the River: 3057 N Rockwell St, Chicago, IL 60618

We have several volunteer opportunities available:

Set-Up Shift

March 4th | 12–3 PM (location near Rockwell on the River, TBD)

• Assist with assembling candidate paddle fans and program book frames
• Other light set-up tasks as needed (2–3 volunteers needed)

Greeters & Check-In

March 7th | 4–10 PM

• Welcome candidates and families
• Assist with event check-in and arrival photos
• Help answer guest questions

Guest Services Booth

March 7th | 4–10 PM

• Support guests with questions and general needs throughout the evening

Activation Volunteers

March 7th | 4–10 PM

• Staff fun photo booths and activation areas
• Encourage guest participation and engagement

Additional Details

• Most roles involve standing or moving throughout the night (except set-up and guest services)
• Once you sign up,

Caroline Osborn will connect with you to confirm your preferred role

• A 30-minute online training will be held a few days before the event (recorded if you cannot attend live)
• No dress code for the March 4th set-up shift
• Formal attire required for March 7th
• Hors d’oeuvres will be served, and complimentary valet parking begins shortly before 4 PM
