    Grants Specialist - STEM Education

    What do we do?

We teach high school and college students how to code using project-based learning. Through hands-on projects, students learn coding by developing real-world software applications. Our students don't just learn programming - they build solutions that address community challenges and create positive social impact.

    Why do we do this?

Each project has a positive civic impact, whether it is helping the environment, assisting vulnerable populations, or bridging communication gaps. Our projects are scoped for students to build functional prototypes or working pilots with mentorship from industry experts.

    Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Grants Specialist to identify funding opportunities that align with our mission of empowering students through civic-minded technology education and write grant proposals.

    • Researching and identifying potential grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources
    • Evaluating funding opportunities to assess alignment with our programs and mission
    • Write grant proposals
    • Creating and maintaining a grants calendar to track application deadlines
    • Building and managing a database of prospective funders
    • Providing regular updates on potential funding opportunities to our team

    Requirements:

    • This is a remote volunteer position requiring 3 to 5 hours per week
    • Experience researching and identifying grant opportunities for nonprofit organizations
    • Strong research and organizational skills
    • Familiarity with grant databases and funding research tools
    • The applicant must reside in the United States or Canada
