We are in need of volunteers (18 and older) who own or rent their own homes, to foster 2-5 kittens for an extended period of weeks until they are ready to enter the kitten room at the rescue. All food, supplies, and medical needs will be provided for them.
Volunteers will be expected to:
- Keep in touch with the rescue about medical concerns and contact the rescue before seeking medical attention elsewhere when a concern arises.
- Send regular pictures of the kittens to the rescue manager.
- Feed and care for the kittens according to the schedule provided by the rescue manager, including the administering of any medications needed.
- Bring the kittens to any scheduled vaccination and spay/neuter appointments at The Bridge Clinic.
- Return the kittens to the rescue when requested to do so.
- Keep their kittens separated from other pets in their homes for a minimum of 10 days before beginning to integrate them into the rest of the home.
Items worth noting:
- Bottle feeding is not a required skill to foster, but it is a plus.
- Owning other animals makes your home valuable, as you will be able to get your kittens used to them. But, having too many animals could be a deterrent.
