Volunteer Website Copywriter (Remote, Part-Time)

Nova Ukraine is seeking a Copywriter to support our Web Team by rewriting and optimizing website content based on recommendations from our SEO specialist. This role focuses on improving clarity, structure, and search visibility of existing pages while preserving Nova Ukraine’s mission-driven tone and factual accuracy.

As a Volunteer Copywriter, you will help transform existing website content using SEO recommendations to improve search performance, readability, and user flow. Your work will directly support fundraising, awareness, and access to humanitarian aid by making our content easier to find, understand, and act on.

What we are looking for:

✔ Proven experience in copywriting for websites

✔ Understanding of SEO best practices (on-page SEO, keyword usage, content structure)

✔ Ability to rewrite content for clarity without losing meaning or intent

✔ Excellent written English

✔ Attention to detail and strong editing skills

✔ Ability to work with feedback and follow structured recommendations

What you will do:

✔ Rewrite and optimize existing website content based on SEO recommendations

✔ Collaborate closely with the SEO specialist and Web Team to implement keyword, structure, and readability improvements

✔ Ensure content is clear, engaging, and aligned with Nova Ukraine’s voice and mission

✔ Adapt content for different page types (program pages, campaign pages, blog posts, landing pages)

✔ Suggest improvements for headlines, subheadings, meta descriptions, and calls to action as needed

✔ Maintain consistency in terminology and messaging across the website

✔ Make revisions based on feedback

Would be a plus:

✔ Experience working with nonprofit or mission-driven organizations

✔ Familiarity with WordPress

✔ Understanding of analytics-driven content improvement

✔ Experience working with distributed or volunteer teams

Volunteer conditions:

✔ Volunteer role (unpaid).

✔ Remote work with collaboration via Slack and Asana.

✔ Reports to the Website Project Manager.
