Senior Celebration Event Volunteers – Lunar New Year & Valentine’s Party (Feb 20th)

About the Opportunity: Many seniors at Edgewater Isle don’t have frequent visitors. By joining this celebration, you help build community and brighten someone’s day — even for a few hours.

What You’ll Do: We are having a Lunar New Year/Valentine's Party for Seniors at Edgewater Isle. HIP Housing is hosting this party in partnership with Mobile Recreation of San Mateo. Here's a timeline of what the activity includes and volunteers are welcome to join in anytime after 1pm:

• 1-1:30pm: volunteers can start coming to finish setup
• 1:30-2:30pm: Volunteer can start off helping with Chinese Calligraphy activity with San Mateo Mobile Recreation
• 2:30-4pm: party, serve food & drinks, hang out with the senior residents
• 4-5pm: cleanup

Who We’re Looking For: Great for teens, community groups, and anyone who loves spending time with older adults.

Our Mission: HIP Housing builds community and connection for older adults in San Mateo, supporting independence and reducing isolation through social events and support services.
