Volunteer Opportunity: Friendly Visitor & Conversation Companion (Seattle, WA,98122)

We are seeking compassionate volunteers to provide social connection and friendly visits to older adults living independently in a residential community. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys conversation, listening, and building relationships.

Volunteer Activities:

• Engage in friendly conversation and social visits
• Share interests and hobbies
• Discuss history, current events, arts, music, or cultural topics
• Offer encouragement and companionship
• Assist with simple technology-related activities, such as accessing music or information on a tablet when appropriate

Preferred Interests & Skills:

• Enjoys meaningful conversation and lifelong learning
• Interest in history, world events, classical music, opera, arts, or cultural topics
• German language skills are welcomed but not required
• Patience, empathy, and strong listening skills
• Comfort interacting with older adults experiencing age-related vision or hearing challenges

Volunteer Commitment:

• In-person visits
• Flexible scheduling coordinated with staff and participant preferences
• Ongoing commitment preferred to foster a consistent and supportive relationship
