Earth Day 2026 work party at Point Isabel

Observe Earth Day at Point Isabel Regional Shoreline! At this work party we'll focus on whatever the park supervisor's top priorities are. Some years we've mulched around the new trees, pulled weeds, and filled holes.

WHO's ORGANIZING THIS: East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) and Point Isabel Dog Owners (PIDO).

WHERE: The large, flat meadow halfway between the parking lot at 1 Isabel Street,Richmond (near Mudpuppy's Tub and Scrub/the Sit and Stay Cafe) and the smaller parking lot at the end of Rydin Road. The field is bounded by Hoffman Channel at the north and the Bay Trail/USPS Distribution Center on the south. It's a five-minute walk from either parking lot.

You won't be able to miss EBRPD's green pickup truck. (Don't cross the bridge over Hoffman Channel. We're meeting on the *south* side of Hoffman Channel.)

Parking is a challenge on weekends. Carpool if you can and give yourself time to find a spot. There are bike racks near Mudpuppy's (1 Isabel Street). Don't bike through* Point Isabel...that's not allowed, for safety reasons.

WHEN: Sunday, April 26, 10 to noon. Come for 15 minutes or the whole two hours, every bit helps!

WHAT TO BRING: Your own water, and gardening tools and work gloves if you have them. You may want sunscreen and a hat.

OTHER THINGS TO KNOW: Point Isabel has lots of off-leash dogs wandering around. Your friendly dog is welcome but bring water and a leash in case you need it.

    ¿Cómo llegar?

Park in the small lot off Rydin Road and walk toward the Bay, or near Mudpuppy's Tub & Scrub and walk toward Hoffman Channel. You'll see an East Bay Regional Park District truck parked in "Hoffman Field." Sign in at the truck! Bring your own gloves and hand-weeding tools if you have them. Every year Point Isabel Dog Owners does a joint work party around Earth Day. Some years we've mulched trees, pulled weeds around young trees, and filled holes. This year the park supervisor will direct us toward what needs doing most!

Cómo participar como voluntario(a) en esta oportunidad

    Enviar Email

Bring your own gloves and hand-weeding tools if you have them. Carry water for yourself and consider wearing a hat. Text 510-684-2091 that morning if you can't find us!

Be aware that Point Isabel is a park that allows dogs off-leash.

Weekends are often very busy and parking can be tight. (Wait for a space to open up, though. There's lots of turnover!)

The Sit & Stay Cafe offers both food and drink.
