SEO, Website, and Growth Lead

About this role

AfriGenetry Link has been awarded a $10,000-per-month Google Ad Grant, a free advertising program we have not yet fully activated. This role exists to change that. You will manage the Google Ad Grant, build AGL's search presence, write SEO-optimized content, and grow our digital reach so that people searching for African ancestry, DNA education, and hereditary health awareness find us first.

What you will do

• Set up, manage, and optimize AGL's Google Ad Grant campaigns, targeting keywords related to African ancestry DNA, hereditary health awareness, and diaspora reconnection.
• Conduct keyword research and develop a keyword strategy to drive the right traffic to AGL's website.
• Write two SEO-optimized blog posts per month on topics relevant to AGL's mission.
• Optimize AGL's existing website pages for search ranking.
• Optimize YouTube video titles, descriptions, and tags for discoverability.
• Write and send AGL's monthly newsletter to subscribers.
• Track and report monthly on search rankings, website traffic, Google Ad performance, and newsletter open rates

What we are looking for

• Proven experience with Google Ads or specifically Google Ad Grants for nonprofits
• Understanding of SEO principles, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and content strategy
• Comfortable writing clear, engaging content on health and science topics for a general audience
• Experience with Google Analytics or similar web analytics tools
• Passionate about African heritage, health equity, or community health
• Reliable and self-directed — delivers on time without needing to be chased.
