Onsite Position at Accessible Campground Facility

Looking for a work-stay volunteer!

This would be the perfect opportunity for someone wanting to have a summer adventure! You will live onsite and help manage our beautiful accessible mountain facility. Duties include welcoming guests, keeping restrooms tidy, turning over the two cabins, laundry, and light maintenance. Duties may also include helping with volunteer groups while they are onsite (gathering tools, assigning tasks).

Position start date is flexible, the facility is open from May 22nd - October 16th. We are either looking for someone to stay for the entire season, or we can split up the commitment length and have multiple volunteers to fill the roll.

Wilderness On Wheels is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is located off of highway 285, right before Kenosha Pass. We are open 7 days a week, 8am - 8pm.

This is a flexible volunteer position with an opportunity to gain volunteer credit hours.

Living accommodations:

An onsite apartment with WiFi.

No smoking allowed.

If the person has a camper, that might be doable but would need to discuss details further.

Position Overview

Wilderness On Wheels is seeking compassionate, responsible, and upbeat volunteer(s) to live onsite this season. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference while gaining hands-on experience working with a nonprofit organization while performing onsite campground maintenance and helping with volunteer group coordination.

Volunteer(s) will live onsite for the duration of the season (or part of it). You will play a direct role in welcoming guests, both for day trips and overnight stays. You will also have an opportunity to participate in recreational events and fire mitigation efforts.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests upon arrival
• Check in / check out overnight guests
• Onsite maintenance (keep restrooms tidy, laundry duties, cleaning the two cabins, and other onsite duties).
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment
• Collaborate with fellow volunteers

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
• Interest in outdoor accessibility, wilderness adventure, and nonprofit service
• Willingness to complete required background check prior to starting the position
