About:
For over 40 years, Pets and Friends, a nonprofit organization, has been dedicated to providing and promoting the healing comfort and companionship of animals through pet therapy visitations.
The program exists for people and their pets to visit patients, residents, youth, staff and others, giving them a chance to pet, cuddle, and interact with the therapy pet in turn receiving unconditional love and affection.
What is a Pet Therapy Team?
A Pets and Friends Pet Therapy Volunteer Team consists of a volunteer and their own pet dog, cat or rabbit, who have successfully completed our program.
Our volunteers are dedicated, passionate individuals with a desire to share their pet’s unconditional love and affection with others.
Our therapy pets come in all shapes, sizes and breeds but share one thing in common - they adore human contact!
Where can we visit?
Pets and Friends has opportunities available throughout the Lower Mainland such as hospitals, hospices, senior residences, mental health units, veteran communities, colleges, and more. There is a good chance you can volunteer in your community!
